Coaching Staff

Head Coach: Jacob Leatham

Jacob Leathem is a native of the Sacramento area. He graduated from Casa Roble High School. where he played football and baseball. After high school, Jacob attended Sierra College and Solano CC where where he played collegiate ball for two seasons while earning an A.A. He was scheduled to transfer and play at a CSU before he decided to hang the cleats up. He is a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), Positive Coaching Alliance and is ACE certified. 

Coach Leathem served as a board member at Carmichael Girls Fast-Pitch Softball and has over 8 years of coaching experience in softball, with 2 years at the high school level. He has coached  many recreation all-star and travel teams. These include: All-stars for 09-10 softball, 11-12 softball; Travel softball at 12u, 14u & 16u levels. Over his career, Coach Jacob has captured a number. of championships and second place finishes in USA, USSSA & All-Star Tournaments. Most recently, his team has placed 5th in the NSA National Tournament.

Jacob's goals for El Camino are to continue to grow as a "program"  and to always put the program first (after academics). He works to teach his players communication, work ethic and character skills that are necessary to be better teammates and leaders in the community. Jacob prides himself most on his unrelenting work ethic and dedication to his players and the sport.

Junior Varsity Head Coach: Rob Hernandez

Rob Hernandez is a a native of the  Sacramento area. He graduated from Highlands High School where he played baseball for four years. After high school, Rob attended American River College where he played for two seasons while earning an A.S. in Biotechnology. He later earned his Bachelors in Science in Organizational Leadership from National University and is currently earning his Masters. He is a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)  Positive Coaching Alliance and the National Alliance for youth sports (NAYS).

Coach Hernandez  served as a board member at Carmichael Girls Fast-Pitch Softball for 6 years and has over 10 years of experience coaching softball, four years at the high school level.

In his spare time, Rob enjoys spending quality time with his two daughters, ages 17 and 15, and with his friends and family.

Junior Varsity Head Coach: Aubrea' Mann

Aubrea' Mann is a native of the Sacramento area having graduated from Mesa Verde High School where she played softball and secured three school records in home runs, hits, and steals. You can still find her name displayed on the record board in the MV gym. Aubrea' was an honorable mention on the Sierra Foothill All-League team in 1997 and earned a spot on the Optimist Team in the same year. After high school, Aubrea' went on to ARC and continued her short-lived softball career until deciding to focus on her family.

Coach Mann has been playing softball since the age of 7 and has played ASA with mulitiple organizations including the Sacramento Sting. She is a natural lefty specializing in slap hitting, delay bunting while also spending a few years as a pitcher. During the last few years, she had been coaching her daughter on the Foothill Gold team bringing home six championships and over eight medals.

In Aubrea's spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her two daughter ages 16 & 13, her dog, and her friends and family. She also loves to play adult league slow pitch softball and working out in the gym.
